The basic IPR 1600 is out and about...but no word about the DSP version.
More importantly, Also no word yet on the IPR-3000, IPR-4500 or IPR-6000 series in either 'standard' or DSP versions. I have a 4500 on pre-order and watch the dates on different online gear sites expire, re-assign then move to 'uncertain'.
What's up Peavey? Anyone have any inside scoop?

The first one died in the middle of the second gig - left us with no monitors. That got sent back, and the replacement was DOA. I've bought Peavey gear since 1981, but never again - I'm done with Peavey. |

Any online site keeps pushing the dates back for the 3000, 4500 & 6000 series as well as the DSP. The newest date I've seen is April 19th.

The people I had preordered the Peavey IPR have removed it from their website. They've also said they would refund my money since there is no sign of a release date and the unit looks to be indefinite. But only after I contacted them with concern, since I paid up front for the unit and have been waiting for 4 months...
Too bad that no one (either Peavey or the vendor) could get their act together in over 4 months.

Last I heard, there are issues with availability of parts for all of the IPR models.

The only one that has happened to date is the 1600. Not the 3000, 4500, or the 6000 models or their respective DSP versions.
Too bad, because I wasn't just waiting but had paid up front...so basically somewhere along the line both parties lose out on the 500 or so bucks I had given them.

I have seen the pics of the innards of the unit, and I can tell you from experience that it is a somewhat "adventurous" design..... I was able to identify a couple things that would be really cool if they work, but which I actually have never seen work in the music biz before....... even though they SHOULD.
But, Peavey is a company that I would expect to be able to get any problems ironed out and put out the product. It sounds from previous posts, etc, as if they are willing to make it good.
it would be nice if testing and field testers would show up all the possible problems...... It does not always happen like that. After designing something like 100+ products at SLM, I know that all too well.....

Vaporware is completely unethical and unprofessional.

Vaporware is completely unethical and unprofessional. | It's definitely unprofessional, but I don't see how pushing a release date is unethical. Nor canning a project.
Selling a product that the engineers don't think is ready for release is unethical business IMHO.
You're not owed anything by a company unless you've purchased a product with a warranty or service agreement.
