Anyone here go back to GK MB-500 after trying a MB Fusion?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have heard some players out there do this. They could not wait to get their hands and ears on a GK MB-Fusion (as I); only to go back to the GK MB-500.

I am curious as to why; or also would like to hear from the other side, that like the MB Fusion.

I am undecided on a few micro heads, and looking for Pro's and Cons.

Thank-you

Interesting. I recently chose the MB500 over the Fusion simply to save a buck. It would be nice to have additional vindication

I've heard people complain about the switch placement on the top of the MB Fusion? It the irritation gets too great they can just send them to me

I haven't tried the mb500, but I have no issues at all with my fusion. I got it used but basically new at the same price as an mb so it was a no brainer. I've only played 5 gigs with it and I'm very happy with the sound and fit and finish even though I haven't let go off my 700 rb.

I have been using an MB212 combo (which is essentially an MB500 head) and loving it. When the MB Fusion came out I bought one and liked the solo sound at home but when used with a band I couldn't get a sound that I liked and cut through the mix, so I sold mine. Now I've got two MB212s and am LOVING them both!

I tried a MB210 combo today at GC..but I was only able to try an active MM through it and couldn't hear myself as there was a drummer going crazy in the next room, and for some reason all of the expensive Fender Basses were up higher on the wall so it was not a good time to get a A/B.

I am still torn between the Ampeg PF500, GK MB500, and the MB Fusion.

No one has these to try out near me.
