Anyone pairing 2x10 with 1x12 cabs?

Hey all. Just wondering if anyone does this for their rig, and how they like it?

I am currently running 2 Epifani PS 112's stacked up. P-bass (usually) or jazz bass into a LMII. The Epi's are great cabs, and I love the portability, but I feel like something is missing. They are very strong in the mids, I think, and are a little aggressive for my tastes.

Before I got the second PS 112, I had a Avatar B210 on top of one of the PS 112. That stack sounded like it really brought out the best in each cab. Unfortunately, I sold the Avatar, thinking 2 PS 112's would be the way to go. Now I miss the depth and richness of the multiple 10s.

So, thinking about grabbing a 2x10. What about the Ampeg 210AV? I like the weight, and I like the price. And I love the Ampeg tone. Plus, I never ever use the tweeter on my Epi's, so I wouldn't miss it with the 210AV.

I recommend determining which speaker you like best (be it the 112 or 210) and then get another incidental one just like it (same make & model). And if that doesn’t work for you - you can always go back to the mismatched Avatar B210 over the Epifani PS 112 or whatever.

I often use my Markbass 121P on top of a Ampeg 210HE, but I put the Ampeg on its side so I have a vertical column of speakers. Like you, the price was right at the time ($125 for the Ampeg) and I needed more speaker. My sound might not be the best with that set up because of phasing (mixing speakers) but it works pretty well, for what it is.

Personally I think the 112 and 210 combo is one of the best. Now that might have something to do with the particular cabs I am using, but to me it is a truly excellent match. I put the 210 on the bottom and the 112 on top. love the sound the depth and richness.

Yup. Epifunky 210 with Fender Rumble 112. Both very light, and sounded great at last gig.

I run an Avatar 2x10 vertically on top of an Aguilar 1x12 as one of my "medium" rigs. I really enjoy it.

I think Doug Parent may be using an AE112 with an AE210. Somebody else here is using that combo as well.

Hey all,
I use the CMD112P for the small gigs and I'm very tempted to take along my new-but-just-sitting-in-the-musiuroom EA NL210 and give ti a stage try-out. The two sound good at home but on-stage is a different beast.
