Anyone rockin' a HT/EX-112 stack with a TC Classic450?

Current rig is an LM-II atop the original HT/EX-112 cabs (before the new ER models came out). I love these cabs and the LM-II has been good to me, but I'm just looking for something different and the TC's have caught my eye...

Thoughts?

Have not heard that combination, but I'm very familiar with all three pieces of gear. I would guess that would not be a good thing. The LMII is just magic with those cabs, since it has the low end power and the upper treble sparkle to widen and even out those very mid present and somewhat low end attenuated cabs out. The RH450 is ALL about the mids.

If you are happy with the LMII, but looking for a little more volume, a little more punch and quickness and a more full feature set, consider the F500... wonderful head.

IMO, and kind of interpolating, since I again have not tried the RH450 with that stack... so 'take it with a grain of salt time'.

Thanks Ken. It's actually more that I'm looking for a head with a better quality DI than anything. The one on the LM-II hasn't really cut it for me in the past. You're right though, the LM-II does sound great in combination with these cabs, so maybe I should just deal with it and get a proper floor DI... Countryman perhaps...

The more fully featured DI on the LMIII and F500 sounds wonderful. It not has a pre/post switch and a level control.

That being said, if you dig the tone of the LMII, the Countryman (if you have a passive bass... or active for that matter) or the JDI (if you have an active one) is a good, relatively low cost solution.

Also, the TC Staccato is a wider voiced version of the RH450, and that might really sing with that stack.

Yeah I only rock passive J's and P's so the Countryman sounds like a go... I've certainly eyed off the LM-III at times but couldn't afford it if I sold the LM-II (but could afford a TC off Ebay)...

How about those TC RS-112 cabs. Wonder if they're any good...

Haven't heard them, but they are getting good reviews. I love my little RS210... kind of like the older Berg HT112 tone.. very warm, very punchy, very organic and smooth. Nice cabs! GREAT price.
