I've been looking at BE cabs recently and really like the sound of them.
I see a lot of people using a pair of 15's and some nice reviews of the 15 with a 10 but not as many mentions of the 12's?
I recently ran a pair of Bergantino AE112's and thought the 12's sat really nicely between a 15 & a 10 & worked great when paired.
I thought maybe two of the 12's without the coax tweeter would work for me as I tend to run without tweeters most of the time.
Any thoughts or advice hugely appreciated

I like the potential flexibility of a pair of cabs that would allow me to use just one for smaller gigs

I paired them with a MarkBass F1. The sound is "boxy" solo, but it fit well in a busy mix (electric & acoustic guitar, keys, drums, congas, two vocalists) and was loud enough for medium sized gigs (~150 people) without PA support. |

I would boost the bass on my amp a bit more, but the cab responded well to that. I liked the way the BE handled EQ generally...you could add bass without boom. Never felt like I needed a tweeter. I should mention that with both of my bands, I was playing fingerstyle almost all the time...I would not call these slapper cabs. |

Actually the S12 is my favorite cab to mic in the studio. I only went with the D12 this time because I specifically wanted a 2 driver cab. I will be adding an S12 back to my collection at some point.
And yes, my opinion is of the BE stuff sonically is on it's 'in the mix' tone. They can be made to sound pretty good solo, but the cube style BE cabs are best suited with the band. |

They are faster than any 15 I've owned by a large margin and are close to the Aggie 10's I they replaced.

I have always been very happy. I use a GK 400RB III and it is a match made in heaven. I often use the 12 for rehearsals, and it kicks butt. I used the 15 solo last Sat. for an outside job with quick setup/teardown. I DI'd into the PA, but the Bag was givin' me all I needed on stage and then some--plenty of bottom (for my taste) and good definition. Stacking the 12 on top is the best of both worlds--warm, well-defined bottom with a bit of extra midrange punch. I should mention that I play in a 50's/60's band and rotate between a stock early 70's fretless P-bass with flats, and a hot-rodded late 70's P (Jazz pickup and Baddass II added) with nickle rounds. Lately I've also been rockin' a fretless 'Ray with medium EB rounds. Fingerstyle all the way. Life is good! |

I bet the GK sounds killer on the pair. I tried one out when I thought my AMP was on it's way out (ended up being a failing speaker cable).

Never tried one, but from what I've read and heard, they are right up my alley. And how cool would it be to have a head that is made almost literally right next door to the Bag factory?!

If the venue calls for it I biamp my Markbass out and use the bass one for lows and the git one for highs w/ chorus. It sounds great. |

I really liked the sound of the 15 and would happily gone with a pair of these but the little 10 really adds some punch and I think it's easily enough for rehearsal or very small gigs on its own
