Anyone seen or heard anything about this?? Crown X1000

I cant find anything on this power amp, but the price is attractive. Crown's website doesnt seem to have it.

can't bridge it into 4Ω, and it doesn't even have 1/4" ins, just RCA plugs like your home stereo.

looks like a toy to me.

XLR and 1/4" inputs are on the far right side of the back panel.

But +1 to reservations about not bridging @ 4.

Looks like the inputs are XLR and RCA, not 1/4". Also looks like the power ratings are peak, not RMS, so figure half the rated power for real usable watts. For $200 you get 300 watts RMS bridged into 8 ohms--not a very favorable dollar-to-watt ratio. Weight isn't listed, so figure it's an anvil too. Pass.

I saw these listed for US$199 when I wanted a power amp a few weeks back. Its description was so vague---and, more important, it does not show up on Crown's web site---that I went with a Crown XLS1000. Normally US$299, the XLS cost me about US$269 because it was a Black Friday week sale.

I think the Crown XLS1000 would be a better choice.
If you run a 4 ohm cab, you'll only get 300 watts with the
X1000 where you could get 1000 watts with the XLS1000.
There are lots of sales going on right now. You can probably
get 15% off.

XLS1000
1000 watts (500 x 2 at 2 ohms)
Bridges into 4 ohms (1000 x 1 at 4 ohms)
Class D (cool running)
$299

X1000
600 watts (300 x 2 at 4 ohms)
Bridges into 8 ohms (600 x 1 at 8 ohms)
Class ???
$199

you could likely score a used QSC RMX for the same money as this x1000 thing and have a far beefier amp.
