Thanks all |

I also prefer 15", but keep the tweeter turned off. Also keep the highest treble in my EQ turned off. |

| | | | I enjoy slap sound through 15's even with the tweeter turned lower or off. I've slapped using a Ampeg V4B through a Marshall 215 JCM800 and got an excellent sound. Slap with 15's, to me, definitely is not a problem |

To the op, yes I have plenty. There's a million different speaker types in different sizes to yield a million different slap tones. None are right or wrong, just depends on your tone goals and the mix you're playing in. |

Hate those slicy icepick highs. | I have an ancient homemade (not by me) 2x15 that has icepick highs without any tweeters. The drivers and amps can make a huge difference even between the same diameter speakers. |

I love this cab! |

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

For that band I use a JBL 15 cab (sometimes with an EVM 15B Pro Series, depending on what mood I'm in) and a Trace 2x10 cab powered by an SWR Bass 350 head, no tweeters. Sounds awesome, either with my aluminum neck Kramer, or my borrowed Carvin LB70P. |

But when I do, I prefer Dos Equis. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
