I still use my 20 year old TNT115. I went to a 410 but had a problem hearing it on stage when I was next to a loud guitar player. It sounded good out on the floor, but I could not hear anything on stage. Search for 410 and not hearing on stage and see what you find. I just ordered another 410 to make a stack. Some say the best amp stand for a 410 is another 410. I do like the sound of the 410, but until I get it figured out, I will keep falling back to my trusty 15

Sure, last 3 gigs with my TC BG250. No PA either for bass, only vocals. Medium bars. No problems at all, only turned volume up a little over halfway.

On the other hand you can get nice bass out of a 1x15 and 100W. If you try powering a 4x10 with ur B2R you have only 62.5 watts per speaker, which is fine but you will be wondering where ur low end went. because you have 4 speakers producing mids it can give you the illusion of thinning out in the low registers. Most guys who go from 15's to 10's always crank the bass up. I run a 15 and a 2x10 - best of both worlds. 2x10 or a 1x12 is alot easier than a 4x10 to move around.
Agreed. 4x10's don't really work for small venues. You can't hear them well in near field. If you turn it up loud enough to hear yourself, the people in the back of the room get pounded through the wall. Traded mine for a 1x12 tilt-back combo. The e.q. allows me to boost the low-mid at 220Hz which sounds nice for a P-bass. More punch and clarity overall. I D.I. to the board from my Microbass II pre-amp so they can add a little to the house mix if needed. For reference, this set-up is within the context of a large band: Two electric guitars, keyboard, acoustic guitar, drums and four vocals.

Genuinely one of the best cabs I've heard. Saw a live performance from a guy who had one of the Ashdown Little Giants going through it and the sound was superb.

I love my Trace Elliot 1x15 to little pieces, but it does weigh nearly as much as I do.

I used a Bag End 15 for many years.
I have gone to a 2x10 lately but still
take out the Bag end at times.

Yup. Acoustic B200 combo with a single 15". Most of my sound is from the PA, though.

I'd like to add a second Acoustic 15, but they changed the cabs a couple years ago and now if I get the extension cab, I gotta lay the combo on its side in order to stack them. Ugh.

Considering going back to a 1x15. Tried a vertical stack of 2 2x10s this past weekend, and indeed I felt like I needed to crank the bass compared to what I'm used to. Lots of character and growl, and the bass is actually really loud during solo sound check. But when the band kicked in, I was wanting more low end in my toes.

Makes sense the near/far acoustic observation. I'm in the PA at these bars, so a single 15 is probably a better way to go for me...then I can use the 10s when I'm pushing a room by myself.

Yep. I have a MarkBass Jeff Berlin and a Carvin BX500 with an Epifani PS115. I like to gig with the Carvin using the MarkBass cabinet.

1x15

I frequently use a vintage Sunn Sonaro 1x15 cabinet. I have two of them; one with a JBL E-140, another with an Altec 421-8H II. These are shallow pine or plywood boxes; very lightweight ported old-school designs, but are great for small to medium-sized gigs alone or larger gigs if stacked.

They originally came with Eminence 60 or 80 Watt speakers and were very light weight... until I upgraded the drivers! They stand tall but fit in the back seat or a trunk and are still very easy to maneuver around with.

Yes. And please excuse the tangle of wires. It was kind of like a bad hair day. Great gig, though.

I do smaller coffee house/small room gigs with 1/2 of this rig... though sometimes I use a Mesa Walkabout head with 1 Diesel 115.

I gig with an Ampeg PF-500 into a PF-115LF. For bigger gigs (like next weekend's outdoor one) I add a second one, and put a 4Pro on top.

Yep!

Been gigging with Laney 115 combos since...well, since I first started gigging, actually! Moved up from a 120W to a 300W last year, but both have managed to "fill" some reasonable-sized rooms, even without PA support. Don't think I'll need to upscale for a little while, but if I do I'll probably just buy a 115 extension cab.

I use a B2R into an SVT 15E every week for my regular gig. It gets the job done, and is a good match for the B2R. Gets the sound right in the zone for my oldies gig. The guitar player sets his 2x12 on top of it and the balance is always pretty good.
