I like the sound of two speakers working in conjunction with each other in the same box, rather the separates. I have single 12s for smaller gigs, but prefer either a 410 or 212 for larger gigs.

I have two GK212's...
I seldom use one by itself, as any box like that, 410, 212, whatever,
is just too low to the ground for my personal preferences.

I do use 212 under 112 sometimes, and the 2x212 for outdoor hugeness.

Small clubs, 1 Neox 112T on an ampwedge, low but more than gets the job done. Was great for in house X-Mas Parties this month

Large clubs just bring the other 112T. Perfect solution for me and no longer need my son to load in or out

I just picked up another Bergantino 1x12" AE112 used. Prior to that I was using the older HT112 and EX112 cabs.

I could (and will) get by with 1x12" for most of my needs. Two is more than enough when I need a little more and light and easy to move around and fits into the car.

I think that 1x12's are the perfect setup for me.

With my 11-member classic rock/Motown band, I can use a pair of 1x12 cabs (Bergantino HT112ER). I compete with a 5 piece horn section, Hammond B3 & Leslies, guitar, drums, and plenty of stage monitors, but stage volume stays reasonable so the cabs keep up just fine.

Unfortunately no 2x12 rig would be sufficient for my hard rock band, where I often have to open up my 6x10 by the end of the night because the guitard can never be loud enough. I tried it once in a small club, thinking volume would stay reasonable -- long story short, I was wrong, and blew out the tweeters on my Bergs. Fortunately those cabs sound great even without the tweets.

Oddly enough, I used to gig with 2 DB112's (loved the sound) but have switched to a Berg 410 because I found it easier to move the 410 (with casters) then to carry the two 112's. The total weight was about the same but those wheels really made it easier to move. I had a pair of Berg 112 NEO's that were very light to tote but I liked the tone of the DB112's better. But....the HD410 is working out great now so that's what I use for gigs. Still use a single DB112 at the church.

Wouldn't the DB212 worked for you?

I use a pair of Mesa Powerhouse 2-12" for bigger gigs. For small to medium sized rooms, -when playing with a Guitard that doesn't crank his amp up too loud, I use a pair of Aguilar GS112 cabs.

Certainly an option. I probably could have bought a nice lightweight hand-truck to move the DB112's too but I had been using an old GB410 in the rehearsal space and kinda wanted to get the 410 sound at the gigs so when the Berg showed up in the TB classifieds, I jumped on it. No regrets.

What's your budget?
Possibly but since he mentioned mobility and the Lil G is basically a 2-12 in the form factor of a lightweight single 12 cab (nothing else out there like it) it's probably a relevant suggestion. And if he's considering two 1-12's the price might be right too.

I use a single Glasstone Lil G neo 2-12 cab for all of my gigs and have no problem hearing myself no matter how near or far away from the cab I am... even sitting on it.
