Anyone using 2x Ashdown ABM 210's?

Anyone using 2 x ABM 210's? Discovered today just how punchy they are...i'm impressed.

Also twigged that if i get 2 of them i have a 410 which is actually louder than the 410 (it would be 4 ohm compared to 8) and would be much easier to transport and carry around...have to save the back these days!

Only thing i'm not sure about is how much bottom end i'll loose compared to a 15...but i do prefer a "410 sound". I've had a MAG 410 for ages but i tends not to come that often as its so heavy and awkward to move (...plus the cloth would rip if you even sneezed at it!)

Losing bottom end as opposed to? A 410 will move around twice the air that a 115 will. A 210 is about equivalent to a 115. The difference will be subtle if you mean 2x 210 vs 210 and 115 rigs.

I know in terms of speaker area they are about the same, but they're very different in terms of frquencey response, using the 10's are better at mids/highs and the 15's lows (bit of a generalisation).

So the ABM 210 freq range is: 75Hz - 20kHz
Where as the 115 is: 41Hz - 4kHz

Thats a fair bit of difference...so the 10's aren't going to be as good at those low rumbling frequencies

I didn't know the individual specs on them. Good point. I'm glad it's a lot easier to compare cabs within the same line.

Anyways, my guess is that what you'll notice is that the 15 will sound darker and a little more boomy than the 210. A 210+115 will may sound a wee bit boomier as a rig than a 2x210 rig but won't suffer loss of highs because you'll still have the 210's tweeter at butt level.

I currently use an ABM 500 EVOII and a 2x10 abm compact & 115abm compact. In general I like this rig but sometimes feel like I really have to push the head more than I would expect. I've thought about maybe getting a second 210, but am not sure what to expect and as mentioned, the difference may only be slight. I don't feel like I would miss any lows if I moved to 2x 210, and I think I'm maybe just looking for more efficient speakers.

Cab specs can be misleading. Just because the maker says it goes down to 41Hz it may not have a particularly high output at that frequency, whereas the 210 may pump out loads at 75Hz, which you may actually hear as more bassy than the 15.

I have compared the 115 to the 210 side by side and prefer the 210 as its so much punchier and defined where as the 15 sounded "woolly". Maybe together they may compliment each other and sound better than their inidividual sound? Still haven't made up my mind whether to get another 210 or a 15.

I have been interested in the abm 410 version but those freq specs kinda scared me off. I know specs can be misleading but 70hz on the low end seem weak to me. Anyone with any experience with the 410? How's the lows?
