Ashdown 414 or 610 cab (ABM or CL)??
I am looking to replace my Aguilar db212 cab.
this has been my alltime fav cab but I am looking for something with a bit more definition in the hi mids.
Amps of choice are the Ashdown ABM500, Aguilar db212 and a Sadowsky SA200.
I am playing 3-4 outdoor shows a year and maybe 15 indoor gigs, all with PA support.
I am playing mainly a Nordy PJ 5 string with a pick and a hint of drive.
I was hoping the 10" speakers will give me a bit more hi mids.
But I am not quite sure if the 414 (4x10) will give me enough low end, hence the 610 quest.
Gillento- Get the ABM 610 and you will love it. I got the ABM 610 to use with my MAG 600 and it seems more like an 810 than any 410 I have used.
I use the Ashdown 414 and you can definitely get some nice focused low end out of it.
I also use the Ashdown CL 610 and you will have no issues with low end that is nice and even.
You are a blessing :)
Maybe you could briefly compare both cabs, please.
The 414, at least to me is more aggressive sounding than the CL610. And I've been using the 414 for over 15 years.
The CL610 seems to be warmer in sound overall in comparison to the the 414 and I think not having a tweeter is the main reason.
But one can definitely get a nice round warmth from the 414 with the proper tweeking.
I've been using the CL610 since they first came out about 4 years ago.
I like both cabs and for the CL510 to have 6 10's in it it really is not a huge and over bearing cab.
Are you talking about the ABM414 or CL414?
I would take the 610, it's not bad to have a little bit extra ;)
The ABM 414.
