Ashdown 810 Mag or Hartke VX810
Which one of the two and why?
Already chosen the amp? (I mean the poll thread "which one should i choose, and why? ")
Dont know anything about ashdown.
But i owned the hartke and thought it to be an excellent cheaper cab, very underated.
Can get boomy and muddy but with a good eq section it was nothing i couldnt fix.
IMO i found it to be a darker sounding cab as is typical to me in all hartke cabs with the paper cones.
But it was authoritative on a stage and in practice.
I ran it with an SWR 8004 Workingmans head.
It's going to be tough finding those cabs to demo - most likely impossible. Keep in mind many 810's have a different vibe tone wise when compared to their same series 410. 810's (for me) typically have a push in the thick lows to the low midrange (150-400hz). I highly suggest two identical 410's (that you can demo) for versatility. 810's are a unique animal - if you want that vibe, get the 810 and don't look back.
