Ashdown ABM 500 EVO Question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone,

So I bought this Ashdown ABM 500 EVO from a friend of mine for $400. I put about two hours on it so far, but have a few issues.

One of the times I turned it on, I got this odd buzzing sound from my cabinet (i'm running an AMpeg 410hlf). I turned the amp on and off a few times and it seems to have stopped. Has anyone ever experienced this?

My next concern is my biggest one. When I was playing, I heard some rattling coming from inside the head. I opened it up and noticed the power amp board was loose, I tightened it and it's all good. I DID notice the power amp circuit board says "400 watt bass magnifier output". The circuit board has the date 4/10/99 printed on it and inside the housing has the manufacturing date 5/8/2002 on it. Is this a 400 watt head advertised as a 575 watt? I'm confused.
