ASHDOWN ABM-EVO 900 owners, lil help?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got two questions before I go pick this amp up.

First-I hate the blue faceplate, how difficult would it be to alter it? Wanting to paint it black but unsure of how big/impossible of a task this would be....

Second-i've got a 2x15 cab thats 1000 watts. I know theres a billion discussions about ohms and wattages on this page but i'm confused as to how it breaks down on this specific amp with the 575/575 deal. Would I be alright on this?

Thanks!

Don't know about the face plate.

However, if the cabinet is 4 or 8 ohms, then you'll be just fine. You could run two of the cabs off that amp (it's 575 @ 4 ohms per side). But you'll get more out of it with a 4 ohm cab.

They are both 4 ohm cabs, is there anyway to bridge the channel by chance?

No, you can't bridge the channels on an ABM-900

Two 4 ohm cabs is the best way to run it

Used to have one but found that with one four ohm cab and running "one side" was PLENTY! so I got rid of it and got the ABM500-RC instead.

NICE amp though, especially if you can use / need that much power

Thanks guys! Any clever ideas on how to convert the faceplate from blue to a matte black?

It would be very difficult to do without someone to silkscreen the cream colored info back on in my opinion.

This was a special edition from past year i think, try to get one.
Or, if you don't mind silver, get the rack one.

The OP has an EVO 900. Slight difference
