Ashdown ABM500 and what 210?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I have always wanted and Ashdown rig...

I'm thinking of buying an ABM 500 EVO??. Had one briefly about this time last year and have regretted selling it ever since. At the time I was using it with 2 Mojo Sonic single 10" cabinets. For my normal worship gigs it was awesome. However I got tired of all the "pieces" (2 cabs and a head) and ended up buying a TC Electronic RH450 and a couple of RS210's and a yet to be used RS112. I keep one RS210 in the house and the other in the garage ready for the road. In the mean time I also bought a GB Shuttle 3.0-10T. The Shuttle sees 80% of the action because I feel like I'm king of the Coffee House gig's these days.

Fast forward to today...
My favorite rigs to date have been the Ashdown/Mojo Sonic and then for the year before that I was gigging with an original SWR Redhead. I loved the Redhead if you searched here on TB you probably find many threads of me raving about it. But like most everybody else a 100 lb combo just got too heavy. Though I'd be lying if I said I never buy one again and found a good deal on one yesterday that probably got my GAS going. The other factor is my car. I've switched from a compact station wagon to a Mini Cooper S. The GB easily fits without the seats folded down! The TC rig fits easily with the seats folded down.

So I'm thinking of selling my TC rig 100% and buying an Ashdown ABM 500 (new or used) of some EVO flavor. The new UK made Klyston line is too big and I'd prefer the rack mounted version. I like the tonal palette of the Ashdown's, It's well documented what the TC rig is good at.

I'm looking for suggestions on a 210 to go with the Ashdown. I'm in Sacramento and there is not much to play around hear!!! I'd prefer neo cabs though that is not a must as I usually only ever use a single 210 but want the option to drop another under if needed so I'd probably buy 8 ohm.

This is all just thought but I'm all ears.

I play an Ashdown ABM 210 and I imagine that the ABM500 would sound pretty sweet through it.
