Ashdown Active/Passive Inputs

Sign in to disble this ad
I am due to get a second bass that I intend to use with the band I am curretnyl with alongside my current bass. My current bass is passive, and so goes through my pedalboard and into the passive input on my Ashdown EB15 - 180W Combo. However, the bass I am getting is an Ibanez SR305, which is active. I am intending to make an A/B box to switch between the basses easily, but was wondering if I needed to make a second in order to switch between the inputs on my amp. Is this necessary, or is the active input just for basses with really 'hot' outputs?
