Ashdown Combo effects loop with EH Bass Synth

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I'm planning to purchase an Electro Harmonix Bass Micro Synth Pedal, but only plan to use it for a couple of songs in my band's set.

I've heard that when in bypass mode, the pedal can suck the tone a bit, so I am wondering what my options are, like whether I can use it in my amp's effects loop or something (I've done a bit of research online about effects loops but still don't know much)

I have an Ashdown MAG C210T-300 amp (link below).

It would be inconvenient to unplug my bass from the pedal and into the amp while onstage, but perhaps I could just plug it into the effects send when I need to use it? That way I wouldn't have to unplug my bass from the amp.

Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Another (better) option, would be to use a bypass looper with the BMS in it, all in front of the amp. FX loops on the amp are generally "line level", where the BMS is instrument level. I'm not saying the amp's loop won't work, just that using an independant loop bypass, (like the Boss LS-1) would almost certainly give better results.
