Cool Ashdown Ev 3 500 head and ABM 410t rig tone trouble

Sign in to disble this ad
Hay folks, im new to this but i have been playing for 15 years. I have the above rig but im having problems with tone at the top end. Bottem end is thunder. but top end sounds muddy as hell and much quieter. If i turn up the mid and trebbles on the EQ i get a terrible hiss.
Has anybody els had problems with this rig? Any info on settings or general pointers would be much appreciated.

Im using a fender precision.

Thanks

Dave

Try starting with everything flat, and make very small tweaks from there.

Every gain stage causes noise. Some amps are better than others. It's something that is very unlikely to be heard at stage volume. You could try dropping the tweeter level on the cab a bit. This tends to become self defeating after a while 'cos as you drop the tweeter you may want more treble and turn it up thus back comes the hiss.

Follow RickenBoogie advice and experiment.
