Ashdown fan noise

Hi all

I have a Ashdown MAG 300 Evo III and I'm finding I pick up a lot of cooling fan noise when I am recording.

Does anyone have experience with adding a switch\pot to the fan to switch it off\slow it down when recording?

I usually record at relatively low volume levels for short periods so the head shouldn't overheat.

Any advice or comments would really be appreciated

Thanks

Get a quieter fan to replace the stock one. Messing with or defeating the fan circuit is a bad idea. Sleeve bearing fans are quieter than ball bearing.

Hi,

I've replaced fan with a quiet one. It is simple 80X80X25 12V PC fun, although you'll need to attach to old wires :) Find one that is really silent and vualia. I use Nexus

Hi Vaesto

thanks for the feedback - I'll definitely try this.

I forgot that my old Mag could get rather noisy! Not nearly as loud as my PF500 though.
