Ashdown MAG300h with headphones?

Sign in to disble this ad
After a local shop visit last week, i decided to purchase the new Ashdown MAG300 EVO II head to use it on my Randall 300W 4x10 cab.. Everything is smooth, i like the Ashdown tone.

Now last night, i couldn't stop playing since the **** is new, y'all know what I mean . Since it was starting to get late, I wanted to play through headphones. This is also the only amp I've still got, so there was no other option.
As you can see here: http://www.rockpalace.com/gfx_produc...00H-Evo-II.jpg , the amp has an output for Line out/Tuner, located right underneath the Output knob. I tried putting the headphones through this line out, but there was no signal (also after deconnecting the speaker cab from the amp.
Then I've tried reconnecting head and cab again and using one of the two outputs from the cabinet. THIS WORKED, however, since there are two outputs, each one is designed for or Left, or Right. So obviously, the signal coming through my headphones is mono, either right or left.

We've all heard of jack splitters, wich can make you listen through 2 (or more) headphones with only one output. Now I was wondering if there's a reversed option. To make the L and R from the Cab come in one output, so that I can plug the headphones with ease. Anyone familiar with this?

Or even easier, maybe there's a way to get a signal through the Built in Line out?

Thanks in advance

Mistake, I meant I didn't reconnect, I just used to two outputs L & R from the AMP HEAD, not the cabinet of course.

Never ever connect headphones to any speaker out put directly. Your hearing would be in jeopardy!

How to use headphones from line out or speaker out jack?

In this thread i described how to construct a simple box that will allow the safe use of headphones with any SS amp. Check it out if you wish.
