I have a choice btw these two amps for about the same price. Im familiar with the sound and reliability of the GK line (mostly), but this is one of the older units...so im not as familiar.
Im not familiar with Ashdown at ALL, beyond what i can google, of course. I hear things about them not being true to their wattage rating, and not as loud as some other less powerful amps.
This is to power an Ampeg PR410HLF.
I will naturally go play through both of them (with my cab) to be the ultimate decider, but i was curious to hear the TB thoughts on this. I really WANT to love the Ashdown...mainly cuz i dig its looks....but thats not a priority at all.
P.S. im also going to avoid the Bugera 550w thing from GC...cuz...it just cant be good for that price. |
