Attenuator

Can someone tell me how to use my 5 position attenuator? I got 2 carvin 2x10 cabs and a Hartke 500 watt amp.I never had a cab with this feature .

clockwise makes the tweeter go up in volume. counter clockwise makes it go down. all the way counter clockwise is off.

I bet it's his reading skills. Once he saw that label that says OFF a light bulb clicked in his little head and he was OFF to the races.
