And yet your sig says you have "lots of pedals."

I got my new GK MB Fusion today at Bass Northwest. If you are in the Seattle area, and want to visit a great bass store, visit Bass Northwest and ask for Jeff Fiorini. He’s really great guy, he will help you out, great friend. I am match the amp with my TC112 and it is perfect. I would really recommend that amp with the TC’s cabs.

Cool, I was actually meaning to PM you and suggest you ask for Jeff. He's a great guy and a great player too.

A little tube action in the preamp section definitely is nice with the TC cabs for a lot of things, IME.

Mike, can you share the source for that metal grille? I want one!

cab

There are only two players that I know of who have a hathor and it is described as much tighter in the lows, and probably fuller feeling all the way up the neck. The hathor running the woofer fullrange and using 4" mids will obviously have a different character. I've played lomo's TC112 and it was great but, I want more volume, paper cone mids and more growl. The Hathor is described as exactly that and I hope that it is. The wait is just killing me. If they are not my thing I should have no problem selling them since they are 8 ohms each but, I think they will be right. There really aren't many cabs out there that I haven't tried or want to.

He mentioned somewhere that it is now a standard Penn Elcom product. Look here.

Charlie

I'd love to use this grille, but I think Duke mentioned somewhere that it won't work on his wooden versions of the cabinet. Any information on that?

I believe that the wood cabs do not recess the woofer frame into the baffle, which makes those grilles not work. The composite model does recess the woofer frame.

* Just my recollection.

I think that only applies to Mike's mounting method, not to the grill itself?

I consider Mike a friend, but I have NO interest in learning about his mounting method.

It's all about the low end grind man.

Hey Charlie (and all other Audiokinesis gang members).... have a great Holiday Season. I'm finished gigging for the year (no New Year's Eve gigs for me any more... been there, done that!), and I'm getting ready to shut down my little consulting business for the rest of the year

The grills are completely interchangeable. They work with Dukes mounting or mine.

Mine is really simple. First, I mount the driver with 4 screws. I then drill holes through the grill to match the other 4 screws. I use something called a flat speed clip (about 1/2" x 7/8 with a hole in the middle) put the screw through it and tighten it down---but only enough to get a little compression against the grill.

I think that 4 screws are fine for holding a woofer in place.

Anything metal that's flat, about the size mentioned with a hole in the center will work. I just got the speed clips for convenience---I can buy 1,000 for cheap.

It's a good idea to use Loctite on the screws to help them resist loosening from woofer vibrations.

Not me. Two more Christmas gigs, and then New Years.

Rockin' my Thunderchild 112AF at all of 'em!
