The 8 ohm version is available again at Avatar:

I obviosuly want the most for the least.
For the dollars get the 8 ohm TB153 , excellent cabinet ! Handles the low B better than any other cab I've heard except my fEARful 15/6 . I've had the Avatar B410 neo and the TB153 and the TB153 had way better mids and there was no comparison with the low B although the B410 was no slouch on the low end .

The fEARful 15/6 is lighter and thinner than the TB153 , is tighter in the low end and has a more agressive midrange . It is a step up from the TB153 but the Avatar is still a very good cab . I'd get the Avatar and gig it till you can afford to build yourself a fEARful or have one of the authorized builders build one for you . Another option would be to get a fEARful kit from Speaker Hardware with the precut wood panels , no cutting and pretty easy to assemble .

If you're looking for deep lows for a low B, stay clear of the B410 for a five string. A local guy was selling one cheap on Craig's List. I brought over my SWR Goliath III to A/B and probably because the Avatar isn't as deep a cabinet it sounded paper thin in comparison. We got talking about Avatar and he asked if I'd like to try out the TB153 he had in the basement. It sounded better than the Goliath(my second one) and I talked him into selling it to me. I sold the Goliath and bought a second used TB153 (cheap) from a guy who had replaced it with a Fearfull and he warned me that the 153 was shy on the upper mids. Later I bought the new B1510 with the deeper sounding Celestions. This is my main rig now and I prefer the open/punchy mids of the 10" over the sealed and crossed over 6". I power it most of the time with a Markbass Little Mark III which is under 7 pounds. The B1510 is around 55 lbs and I have never had a lighter rig that sounded so good. No, you're not going to get the thundering lows of a bigger cabinet or an 18",but IMO there is no better cabinet for the price, size and weight than the B1510.

If both the 15 & 10 are being run full-range, won't the 15 be limited by the 10?

I'm one of Dave's biggest fans. I've used his guitar cabs over the years and now rock a pair of B212s for bass. I love them and for the money it can't be beat. But I recently heard a 15/6 live and it was unreal. Never heard anything like it before. If you have the tools and the time and the money (it ain't cheap) that's my vote.

Best advice yet. That's what I'm doing ... slowly.

Avatar B1510

I have this and use a Little Mark ll and a Geddy Lee with Fralin stacked singles.....Use it gigging twice a month...For the money and the weight factor I feel this is the best cab on the market...Im 62 been playing many a moon...Gone the Ampeg v4b with 8/10 cab...and SVT with same cabs...No way do I wanna play around with all that weight amymore....
Dave at Avatar sold me on this cab after some personal emails and talks...Had it now for 3 years...Still sounds great, and gives me everything I ask...
