Avatar B410 Neo + what other cab?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all,
I plan on getting a B410 Neo cab from Avatar and an Little Mark III to power it within the next couple of months. From the recomendations I've seen here, it seems the better way to go is to get an 8 ohm cab, so I can add a second cab if need be. As I understand, it is better to have more cone surface working for you, than to have few more watts into a single cab. Now, my question is this. For those of you who use a 410 cab, what cab are you pairing it with and what are your results? Thanks a million beforehand.

Another identical 410. Two of the same ALWAYS works.

Assuming you like the sound of the Avatar 410, ^that.

If you end up not liking it so much, getting another cab of *any* flavor isn't going to make you like it more.

I like this idea. Although I would suggest you also consider the B212. Avatar has a ceramic low frequency deltalite that makes the cabinet weight 70 pounds (little heavier) and the punch is enormous.

Avatar + Markbass

I use the Markbass Littlemark 800 with TWO Avatar B410 Neos and the setup lacks nothing - More power than I'll ever need, even in outdoor venues. As to tone, If people will just spend some time learning what their amps can do by playing with different settings, chances are they'd all be happy with what they already have. Spend some time learning the Littlemark's potential and you can dial up any sound you like.

These amps and speakers don't just have one sound like people imply. "The Markbass sound" "The J-bass sound" "The Avatar Sound" That's all a bunch of crap! That's limited thinking from people who listen too little and try too little.

My Active Fender Jazz Deluxe bass can sound like any bass out there and my amp rig will go up against any amp rig out there. You just have to be patient enough to work at it and get your settings down. You'll get your 3.5.8, or 12 favorite tones and you'll know right where to find them when you need to. Buy what you like . . . whatever suits your needs. and forget about all these equipment junkies and collectors and posers who'll try to convince you that virtually anything you're considering is wrong on some level.

I'd suggest you get just the one B410 neo and work with it for a week or two before you decide you still need a second cab. Then you'll be better equipped to make a more educated decision. You may be surprised at the results.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks,

I guess the best way to go first, is to get a single B410 which may be enough for ninety percent of my applications. A stack of B410s would be pretty awesome I gather, and it would be something I could build up to over time. I am still curious to know if anyone is running an Avatar B410 + Avatar B210, or any other 410 + 210 combination, as this could be enough and would be slightly more portable. Anyone rocking this setup, and what are your experiences?

The problem with a 8 ohm 410 + a 210 is power distribution. If the 210 is less than 16 ohms, you'll be limited to what power the 210 can handle.

Plstrns, Ah, I see the problem...hmmm. In that case maybe it's better to go with a single 4 ohm, 410 cab and hope it covers ninety to ninety-five percent of the applications. I am not sure I can justify buying a second 410 cab only to use it every once in a while. Decisions, decisions...dang!

OHMAGE

For max future flexibility - go 8 ohms in the 410.

It'll give you all the power you need with the Littlemark even at 8 ohms. That leaves you the option to add on in the future if necessary.

The single 4ohm 4x10 with the LMIII will get you a whole bunch of loud~ I would go with that setup unless you plan on joining Metallica.

Best Recommendation

Call Dave (the owner) at Avatar Speakers - He's easy to speak with and a real straight-up guy. Ask for his recommendations and he'll give you the information you need for a great decision on how to proceed. He keeps your best interests at heart even if it means sending you elsewhere.
Great service and great products.
Use the number on the website. More often than not, he answers the phone himself.
