Question Avatar speakers-tone in neos vs. ceramics

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking of either an Avatar 212 or 410 for my first cab later down the line, it seems to me like I should start out with a head in the neighborhood of 500 watts so as not to be lacking no matter (almost) the gig that comes up in the further future, too. Is this sound logic?

What I really came here to ask, however, is up there in the title. Avatar says "same great bass and tone with either speaker type" and I wanted to see how true people have found this assertion to be, because if it is true it seems like a young buck like myself would be better served getting the cab with ceramics and thus more watts, regardless of the weight.

If the Neos make a big difference I'd be considering the 410 over the 212 (which I like the tone of better in theory) so I'd have more watts at my disposal and wouldn't need to buy another cab for a good long while/possibly ever even as heads maybe change. Is this also sound logic?
Thanks!
