Been trading e-mails with Dave the last couple of days. They decided yesterday they will now produce the TB153's in any color they have. Just thought I'd pass along the info.

Very nice! I'm assuming they will soon also offer the TB153 in any combination of the standard Avatar Tolex/Bedliner/Grills. Some related irony:

I used to wonder if the TB153 would be a suitable alternative to a fEARful, based on: While the mid/tweet placement is less than ideal, the Avatar is prebuilt, really well-priced and sounds great (based on many reviews).

Then Leland came out with the cut kits for fEARfuls and I decided I would build one for sure.

AND THEN the whole Neodimium material/speaker thing happened about a week ago...and I'm back at square one. Crap, this GAS thing ain't easy.

Leland has some pretty good prices on 3012LF and 3015LF speakers, despite the price increase of neo.

The Avatar TB153 is definitely a suitable alternative to fEarful. Not as good, maybe, but right up there. My TB153 has been on order for a while, and should be shipping at some point this week, if it hasn't already. I'm glad I ordered when I did, before Dave Avatar decides he has to increase his prices relative to Neo price.

I haven't heard either my TB153 or my LDS 15/6 nEarfuls next to a fEarful to A/B 'em, but I can say that either one of my nEarfuls is superb. If there is a difference between them and the "real thing", I doubt it's dramatic.

I was in the same boat. I was ready to order a fearful kit, went to order it and prices were down. Next day, the newer prices are up. It was at the top end of my budget when I factored in cost to finish it before the price jump. At that point it was either a GK cab or the TB153. With all the fearful and nearful love, I decided the TB was in the price range and should be close enough and still a step up from the GK.

Mine's in the mail now, so of course now they offer them in colors!
