Search Avatar 153, there are more than a few very long threads about it already posted.

cool did some searching...looks like a good one, no a great one! TB153 instead of an Ampeg 410HLF...ok, i guess so...that's what it is...seem slike the TB153 will have the great lows of the 410HLF but will offer much more rich tone with that big speaker and be able to have a nice upper range...

I suggest before you buy anything, spend and hour a day for 2 months reading. TB is a great jumping off point, then the rest of the interweb is only a click away. Good luck!

SideNote... Don't let that time take away from your practice time. Trust me.

I have a couple TB153 cabs. They are f***in awesome. They sound best from at least 20 to 30 feet away. LOUD in the low mids. The Eminence 3015LF speaker is a beast. The sound is very modern, clear, defined, and articulate. I don't just use them for bass playing....I also listen to music through them.

The fEarful 15/6 and similar Low Down Sound nEarful are a tad better: lower weight, larger port, tuned a little better.

Just plain awesome, is what I think of my 153. I like the sound of a 15" bass cab though... And I like a 2x10 with a 1x15 type rig.

I use it with an Eden E210XST, a GK1001RB and a SansAmp VT. Does anything I want, very capable in terms of volume--highest I've used on a gig is "2" or 9 o'clock on the main Vol. Lots of full, beautiful bass, any EQing that I might do usually has to do with adding or going flat on mids, along with some Character and drive adjustments on the VT pedal. I like the Eden tweeter better. Never short on bass with flat EQ, even down thru low B, that rig just sounds right to me.

The price keeps popping up on the TB153s. That was their advantage. Not so much now.

The fEarful kits from Leland Crooks are not that much more expensive at this point if you can handle the assembly and finishing.
