B&C alternative to kappalite?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, I am planing to build 115, (maybe 112) cab, first plan was to use kappalite 3015 as I have read many nice thoughts about it herre on TB, but have to wait an a month to get it...that's really not an option as I need this cab been made yesterday

so, I need your help choosing driver from B&C which can give me similar features like kappalite, deep low end (H string important), but nice middle tone also, suitable for modern music, pop and so...

here is list of what I have available from B&C
12CL64, 12CXN76, 12NDL76, 12HCX76, 12PLB76, 12NW76, 12PG100

15 PS76, 15NW76, 15CXN76, 15PG76, 15PZB100, 15PL100

I don't care about magnet material, but neo would be nice

btw, what B&C is most similar to speakers markbass uses?

thanks in advance,

Slobodan

To compare drivers compare the T/S specs and SPL charts.
As far as building your own cab goes if you're not an expert in the field of cab design (and your question says that you aren't) use a tried and tested design, like the fEarful, using the drivers recommended for it.

I spent some time researching and came to conclusion that only 12cl64 would be capable for bass guitar full range cab, all others would probably be weak in midrange. cxn and hcx are to expensive, "100" series are subwoofer only.

I think I am limited on "76" series, and this 12CL64

any thoughts on 15nw76? seems subwoofer thing to me, but not sure...
