b115e blues???

well,i play my 75' j bass through ampeg b2r and b410hlf and i too wanted a little more bottom end and had my heart set on adding a matching 115 cab.i had been advised to stick with the same sieries so the 15 wouldn't over power the410.well i found one in stock so i drove the 3 1/2 hours to get and i was so convinced that it was the cab i wanted and so sold on ampeg quality that i stupidly droped down my duckits and ran!! well the first thing that i noticed was that i litterly could pick it up and run with it. well i got home and looked at the backs of both cabs a saw that my b410 was made in usa and the 115 was made in china????? well got it hooked all up and tellyou the truth,seeing them all stacked up gave me a little wood!!! first itried the 410 by it's self.sounded great!!! unpluged it and pluged in 115.....d&g strings sounded good.hit the e and cab madenothing but a low distorted buzzing noise.even at very low volume. i'm taking it back,so what do you think? defective or is ampegs quality of thier b-series just garbage now???? please advise!!!! thanks.

i would say that's more you trying to crank the low end past the point of reason than anything wrong with the cab...it just doesn't take very much power by comparison. the idea that a 115 will add bottom to a 410 is called "engineering by looks."

and since the b2r only does 4 ohms, you shouldn't be adding a cab to it anyway, since that's the lowest safe ohms your head will operate at. bad idea all the way around, dude. sorry.

instead, you should exchange your b410hlf for an svt 410hlf, which has the lowest low end of any 410 cab i've ever heard.
