BA300/210 upgrading to an svt-cl?

Sign in to disble this ad
Currently own a BA300/210 and think about getting a new amp.

My dream amp's always been a SVT-CL but recently i've noticed the B-15. All so expensive aswell (especially being in Aus), so cheapish if possible

The style i play in the band is pretty much Radiohead/Thrice(recent stuff)/Circa Survive/Nine Inch Nails

Thoughts?

Ps play in Dropped D/D# and use a Reggie Hamilton Jazz & MIJ Jaguar

B-15's are great and I have one from 64, but an SVT-CL is more practical for band usage.

I think the SVT-CL switches to 230 easier (switch in back), where a B-15 needs to be rewired...

There's some differences between the CL and SVT-VR but both are great amps. You can frequently find either one at a much more reasonable cost used and they're built like tanks so probably still in good shape unless really abused. Warning, these things are heavy.... but so is the sound, and to me that makes it worth the hassle of lugging it around.
Now if you are doing studio or or cafe type venues the B-15 is a fantastic amp.

Good luck trying to find an SVT and 810 in Australia for less than 5k...

Though there are SVT+810's that show up on ebay for about 3k ...

Imo-even better if u can find a used SVT-CL & Berg NV610. But, yep $3k seems about right in Aus. :-/
