Backline 600 help!

Sign in to disble this ad
I tried searching... but couldn't find anything.

I just traded my 700 RB II for someone's backlone 600 + $200.

I tested it out and everything worked fine, but after he left I was having some trouble with it. The overdrive LED keeps flickering and causes static when I use the clean channel.

Is there any way to fix this or anything I can do? I'm happy with the trade and want to keep it that way.... but not if my amp doesn't work....

You mean the clip light?
Use the 10- db pad and it should stop.
Good luck.

No, it's the light from the overdrive channel. It happens even if I don't play. It lights up and static goes through the speakers...

Do I understand correctly: you exchanged one of GK's top of the line products for one of their bottom of the line products?? And a faulty one at that?? Sorry but it's tech time I think.

I am in a huge bind for cash, so I had to get some money.

And I tried messing with the button and stuff. I know the guy and will probably just have to get my amp back...

I have read posts addressing issues with the overdrive channels on the BL 600. Some folks have complained that the overdrive channel will not turn off.
It sucks that yours might need to be sent back.
If that person knowingly offloaded that amp on you....well, I would have a little talk...ask for trade back...
Good luck, keep us posted!

ya this is a very common issue with the BL600 series. Mine will do it on rare occasions. had a warranty and tried taking it to a store to get fixed only to have it work perfectly when they tested it. if you find a solution let us know.

According to GK, this was an issue with a batch of printed circuit boards. Some folks have reported that the problem can be fixed simply by cleaning the board with rubbing alcohol. Of course, don't attempt this unless you know how to do it safely.

Would not recommend it. You can do more damage not knowing proper techniques. It was a solder flux issue and the move to lead-free solder.
