| | Registered User | | | | | backup bass head advice looking for a solid moderately priced back up bass head (would like to keep it under $250) to my pf 500. Will use as a practice amp and if needed - it would be powering my ampeg115he. We play middle of the road rock, some blues. Been thinking about the acoustic b200, maybe go with hartke or even the pf350. Used is fine. Just wanted to get some opinions....thanks all...

I have a 6.0 as my backup and it rides around in my just in case gear box (along with a bunch of other stuff that rarely sees the light of day). But it's not a bad little head. 'Bout the size of a textbook and weighs 3.75 lbs. I use if for practice with the Aux in coming from the computer when I YouTube songs to learn. Sounds pretty good with my Avatar 1-12 (backup/practice cab). I haven't played it through anything else as I bought it just for backup.

As others have said, this is a great head that can be found for very reasonable prices, used. The Shuttle 6.0 is a classic micro. It kicks butt, but is tiny and weighs 4 lbs. Bad joke about younger girlfriends deleted here...

| | | | Here's another vote for the GK MB200. They are very simple and easy to use, sound very fat, clear and loud, and weigh about as much as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. |

| | | | No love for the Acoustic head? I think it's got a lot of character at the price poiny.

If you don't like the GK tone, then a used Shuttle 6.0 would be great too IMO.

| | Registered User | | | | | Just put the micro vr through its first test...playing through an acoustic b115 cab with 3 guitarists, keys, drummer and a flute player and had more than enough volume. Loved the tone as well. I am very impressed with this little ampeg. Great backup head!
