That looks like a lovely beast to carry up stairs. My amp hopes that its 2x15, 2x12 and 4x10. My back hopes that its 10's, 8's and 6's.

I've always loved multi-speaker designs, even if they are a complete waste of space. Why would you ever want two 15"s, two 12"s, and four 10"s in the same box?

I have a feeling the beast was priced so high that they couldn't justify making more than a few of them and now they're discontinued.

You could always contact Bad Cat and see if they'd do a custom job for you if you're actually in the market to spend that kind of scrilla.

Yea, I think I might do that. I really believe in the work they do, and I am willing to save up.

A friend of my guitarist has a Bad Cat guitar amp. I haven't heard it, but all accounts are that it's one sweet amp.

THAT is one hugely flawed design. Many other options (too many to list) could blow that thing away volume-wise and sound better doing it, while being much easier to haul around.

Though I'm sure there will be those that just have a need to prove their manhood by hauling heavy crap around just to say "Mine's bigger than yours".

Any decent designer realizes immediately it needs four of these added, to be competitive:

Well, it DOES say "Bad Cab" right on the front. If you buy it, despite the manufacturer's warning prominently displayed on the front...then hey, it's your money. Random mixing/matching of driver sizes/types rarely end up well.

I wonder if it wasn't conceived as a promotional item more than anything serious. People sure have enjoyed talking about it.

I believe the OP meant the Mark Sampson designed Bad Cat amp...not bad cab (which fully lives up to its name).

Bad Cat guitar amps are something special. I got my first look - and listen - at one about nine years ago, the first time I attended a Porcupine Tree concert. Steven Wilson uses a Bad Cat combo.

Interestingly, they are not super high-powered, compared with your usual Marshall or Mesa rigs. Most of 'em are in the range of 30-40 watts or so. They would seem to be designed for modern, knowledgeable players - who understand that if you really need more coverage, well that's what a PA system is for...

Because you haven't the slightest clue how speakers work of course. For best results make sure you use an ESP cord.

Oh, almost forgot...
