is this bad for my amp?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am running my 700 watt gk head into my 1000 watt avatar 4x10. It is loud as hell and sounds amazing. My problem, I live in a thin walled apt and can never turn it up at all. Is it bad for my speakers or head to run at 1-2 all the time? Should I invest in a nice practice amp or is it ok to play my huge rig quietly much of the time?

I've heard that underpowering speakers can blow them just the same as overpowering, you don't think it will be an issue?

PLEASE do a search for discussions of underpowering speakers. It has been debunked many times.

It will not hurt your amp or speakers. It doesn't hurt your speakers to have the amp turned off. It won't hurt them for you to play quietly.
