Just sayin...... |

I had been a 210 guy for years (pair of 210s stacked vertically) - creased a lot of speakers trying to get them to go loud and low! I bought and sold a pair of GS112s several years ago - they weren't working for me either. I built up a ff 15/6/1 last year, but it was lacking the low end punch I was after - sure they have low end for days, but not the punch I was after. I was getting real close to building a pair of 12/6/1 cabs until I started reading about the ML112s - and after reading everything I could find + the review in BGM, I ordered a pair. My main amp is a Walter Woods Ultra (1200 W @ 4 ohms).
If these sound as good as they all say, then I'll be selling off a lot of other cabs real soon! I'll be testing them out at my next gig on 12/28 and hopefully will have some time to break them in a bit before then - taking the days after Christmas off work - yay! |

I played a small acoustic gig with my brother last night through my 9.2 and one ML-112 (faced toward the rear wall) and my Nordy VJ5 Modern strung with flats...glorious sound!!! Much nicer than I'd expected with the rear facing/flats idea
:-)
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to Roger and all my Baer Brethren!!! |

EA VL110s (either one or two), then Berg AE210s. I cycled through a bunch of cabs over the past two years looking for the right balance of portability, low end, and cut for my gigs (which range from jazz to rock/pop in small lounges to festivals). I'm actually listening to some live recordings from (Fri jazz hit, Sun jazz/rock trio) and I'm really happy with the bass sound. Nice support in the low end, enough edge to be heard in the mix, and not harsh at all. As long as you aren't wedded to the 10Khz and up tweeter hiss, these are a great choice.

This band can get loud (2 guitars, keys, drums, multiple vocalists) and at this venue there is no FOH for bass. I took just one ML112 with the Monique and Puma 500 providing power amp. Freakin' killed. Plenty loud with enough low end. In the past I've done this gig with a single AE210 and it wasn't really cutting it.
These gigs see a wide range of stuff getting called. Everything from Lady Gaga to Black Sabbath. Last night we ended up doing a fair amount of older stuff, and on Paranoid and Immigrant Song the Baer sounded perfect. Dirt pedal (Agro) into tubes into ML112 - holy crap.
Seriously - if you play rock of any flavor, I can't think of a better "small" cab.

I mostly end up using my STM900 with the ML-112 but feel like I don't take full advantage of what the SM9.2 can do with these cabs. |

Have not seen any used either (speaking of the 12's which I think are the only ones available now). Seems like its pretty serious.

Seems like its pretty serious. | There were a pair of used ml112s in the classifieds a few weeks back but they don't show up often. Seems likes lot of the owners have owned a lot of different gear and these scratch an itch for many. It is a different approach than most of the cabs, and it is very well executed. I'm sure after a few years there will be used ones showing up. No cab is perfect, and some guys love to try stuff and flip it, others like to experiment. Roger is a great guy as well so nice to support small builders who make a great product.

And when I called to order my cabs, Roger himself was the one on the other end taking my info and talking to me about the cabs, among other things. Roger is a class guy who I couldn't be happier to do business with because he really is a great guy and truly wants his customers to be happy.
(And his cabs do kick ass) |

But there are so many good write ups about this cab. Some companies have a love or hate cabinet. What I like about this company is his response to players. A very professional person he is. Also a bassist/musician who understands there personality. So good customer service is most likely a given. I hear so many happy bassist who yes have the cabinet for a short time, but who respond to it quickly. Sort of a buisness without the buiness approach if that makes sense ,,...even to me. Its is new but I have been hearing about it for a long time. Meaning he takes his time to make exactly what he wants. I won't call him anal but out of respect he won't do what isn't right to him. Soon I hope to get one or two of these cabinets. Maybe wait for the 15 or have a 12 and 15. Or the 212 looks cool. But 2 12 cabs might be it to.
Its seems like the company has many happy customers and it seems to be growing.

Have only good things to say about Roger Baer and his cabs |
