I have not heard the NX2, but I had the Neox 212 and 112 for a long time. Others who've heard the NX2 have told me that it is a bit deeper, more forceful and bigger sounding than the Neox 212 was.
I also don't have a pair of ML112's. I only have one.
One ML112 would bury one Neox 112. Completely bury it. Two ML112's would bury the Neox 212.
I can't see how the NX2 wouldn't fair the same against a pair of ML212's.
That said, the tonal differences between the ML's and the Neox cabinets is pretty drastic IMO. The ML's are much more forward in the upper mids. The Neox's are smoother sounding though they have an upper-mid presence. The NX2's are purported to be even smoother than the NEOX line, so the difference would be even larger compared to the ML.
If you are happy with your NX2, and like that sound and don't want something different, then the ML line would be a big shift. You might like it more, but that's always hard to say. |

If the ML line has a more pronounced upper mid, that might be a problem. When I think upper mid, I think of that clanky kind of sound. I prefer a nice rock tone with a low mid push, a focused low end with a smooth upper mid and treble. |

I used a shuttle 9 for a while with this cab to great effect. By boosting the low mids I got a great warm finger style tone, I find with the terror less eq is required for the desired result. The cab responds very well to eq adjustments and never sounds harsh IMO. |

The NX2 is a great cab and fulfills my volume and tone requirements right now, the modular idea is pretty tempting. Although I'm considering just adding another 12 to the NX2 and running the Mpulse below 4ohms. |

Good luck. | +1. If a company says 4ohm minimum, they probably mean it. I would also never 'plan' a rig purchase that results in running at 2ohms. Even many heads that are 'capable' of doing that trade-off tonal quality and tend to run hot. There are some heads (Genz1200, Mesa M series) that actually limit the power down with a special 2ohm switch to result in similar performance to their 4ohm performance. However, I'd avoid planning a rig to run at 2ohms at all costs.... greatly limits your head options and can result in some other issues down the road, depending on if the head is 'designed' for 2ohm operation, or just 'is safe to run at 2ohms'. |

I was checking online for the FedEx status on Saturday - it was saying "rescheduled for 12/26" so I was already prepared to pick them up at FedEx then ( I knew there was a possibility I'd get them on Saturday because the status was saying they were in Los Angeles )....then, I get a call on my cell from Fed Ex in El Monte - the cat says they've arrived! This is after I've already started on other projects and have gotten over the fact that I will not see them until 12/26, but of course now, I DROP EVERYTHING and hustle over to Fed Ex! I was able to plug in and test them out in the house, but not at full vol. They sound great and I don't miss the tweeter - nice mids that can be dialed down and plenty of low end. I don't have a gig until this Friday, so I'll be running them with the Walter Woods at that gig - full gig report to follow.
Thanks again Roger!

It looks like I will be trying to work within the 4 ohm load recommendation. |

I had the MP6 shut down twice, and then never did that no-mo with that amp.
