I say that because I will have an almost identical one in a few days. I have the WA head, but I'm in the process of upgrading from the Scout 112 cab to a BE S12-D and S15-D. The 12 just arrived at my apartment a few hours ago and I should have one of the 15s in my possession soon.
One question for you and other Bag End enthusiasts: Do you ever miss having a tweeter? Many of the S cabs are tweeter-less and I know a lot of you stack multiple tweeterless BE cabs, so do you ever miss them? I play rock music and like more of a vintage sound. I don't slap and I have no interest in the hifi kind of tone, so I don't think I'll need a tweeter, but I just want to make sure. |

Congrats on your wise decision to go with BagEnds
Welcome to the BagEnd club!!!
A small but very loyal club and for very good reasons!
Nope, you'll never miss having a tweeter, even if you slap now and then...
How do your like your new Fano? Drop me a PM. |

This might be a silly question, but what's the difference between the two power handling ratings on Bag End cabs? Both the S12 and S15-D are rated at 200 watts continuous sine wave power handling and 400 watts music program power handling. What's the difference? I ask because although I'll use both cabs when I play live at loud volumes, I plan on using just one to practice by myself. My walkabout is 300 watts at 4 ohms and 150 at 8, so I guess it doesn't matter, but I'm curious as to what the difference is.
I should have the S15-d in a couple days. I'll post a pic of my stack when I receive it. Loving the S12-D so far! |

I've been gigging just the S12 lately and I'm actually starting to prefer it to using just the S15. I never noticed before, but the handles on it are installed the opposite way as the S15 which let's me turn it sideways and use the handle as a tilt up. I don't know if this is intentional but it is handy as hell.
I always assumed the power handling specs were like the old days of 'RMS' and 'Peak'. I gotta tell ya tho, I've been abusing Bag Ends for 25 years and never lunched one, even running 800W bridged into 2 big 15's. |

Hoy do S12s and S15s compare tone wise, alone and stalked?

My apartment has bad lighting and the only camera I have is the iPhone, so excuse my poor photo.
Just got the S-15D today to complete my rig! Sounds incredible so far. The true test will be on 10/25 during the next gig. I'll try to take some better pictures then. |

Thx! | I've done both combinations, it's good either way! You won't lose any volume with a 12 in there. I transitioned away from horns and tweeters and the s12-s15, it is a good middle ground. The 12 on the top will get you some more clarity on stage. I can't say you'd notice any appreciable difference out in the crowd though.
For me it's also more flexible in that I use the 12 for EUB gigs. it just sounds better with that. They stack perfectly but the s12 only saves you a couple lbs. |

The results were very impressive, clean, clear, punchy and loud! One of the biggest and best, IMHO, things that I noticed about this rig, was how much it cleaned up the stage mix. None of the typical "big boom" of most bass cabs muddying things up, but still plenty of solid low end response. One other big plus, the entire rig fits into my 2 seater roadster! Glad to be back in the Bag End world again. These little boxes are the shiz! |

I have an S15D and a S12D,....but when I saw the price,.....there was no way to resist! Are you ready for this???.........Are you sure????...I'd suggest sitting down if you're not already........
The price was,..........$49.99, plus 20 bucks for shipping!!! The sales guy plugged it in and put it through it's paces and called back and said it was solid as a rock. Hell,...for $69.99 I won't be upset if it arrives with the speaker shredded! Should arrive late this week,....will let you all know how it turned out. I'm still in shock, awe and disbelief myself! |

My PQ10BXD. I'm the only one running a Bag End power section.
Myself, Jim Wischmeyer the CEO of Bag End, and the guy that played bass for Brian Setzer. I can't remember his name. This was right be fore the floor closed, on the last day the NAMM show a couple of years a go. We were all really tired.
