What cases do fellow TBer's use to carry their Little Mark 2's in? I just got one, and don't want to destroy it while it travels. At the same time I don't want to spend the same price on the official mark bass rack as I did on this amp.

It's designed so that you can unzip the back and front, and leave the amp in the bag while you play. That gives at least some protection against spills, drops and bumps. It also has a generous pocket for your power cord, speaker cable, tuner, picks, etc.
If somebody else is transporting your equipment, I'd definitely recommend a rack.

No..no website. I make them out of 1x4 pine with oak for the rack rails. No two match perfectly. I make each one up for each application, ie: the Momark needed extra ventalation....so I put the handles in the sides.
The only thing I have to buy is the rubber feet....stain, and clear-coat is usually around the house. I can step any one through the process....although it prob. helps that I work with metal and wood at my day job.
Thank-you so much again for the compliment. It's kinda theraputic for me to build them....and I can Lift THEM easily!(Mid 50's ya know)

I may try getting myself some wood and building some similar. Not experienced in woodwork, but I'll give it a go. I think it'd be a lot cheaper and looks a lot better than the big plastic flight case racks. Though to the OP, I think the bag doesn't sound too bad either.

| | | When I got my LMIII it came with the ears and a Gator case...the Gator case had no rubber feet so I had attached velcro strips to the runners on the bottom of the case and they stuck to the rat fur on my amp (I had always played fairly heavy amps and I was afraid that I'd lean on it or somehow knock it off the speakers) However, I still wanted a smaller more compact case and I bought an skb shallow rack case: http://www.casesandmore.com/SKB-Case...K1095.html?cv=
That was a pretty good price @ $55 and ZZounds or MF beat it by a little plus free shipping. I like the feet on the skb and no more velcro pulling up the carpet.

Take internet technical statements with a grain of salt; could be a seasoned vet, a guy with a masters in engineering, or a 15 year old kid with his pants round his ankles.
wow...LOL

Thanks for all the tips on storage. I'm leaning toward the SKB Shallow Roto Case. The price is right and it doesn't appear to add a ton of weight to the amp. Does the LMII need special ears to fit in those?

Does the LMII need special ears to fit in those? | Its a bit of a Frankenbass I put together. MIM alder body, wenge/ebony neck, Model P pickups and yes that pickguard is solid rosewood mounted on a plastic backing and polished. I had it custom made for $100. That bass is just my practice at home bass these days, as my Stambaugh gets all the action outside of the house.

The other side has room for my tuner pedal and another pedal, as well as pockets for cables, and pockets for music, pics and strings. |
