Well I pulled the trigger. Having had a fearful 12/6/1 and a 15/6/1 and not being completely satisfied with either one, I'm giving the Barefaced Big Twin a try. My Eden 410XLT's have been GREAT for the last 14 years, but knocking off 40 pounds to all of my load ins sounds just too good to pass up.
Haven't heard from Alex as to when to expect it, but I'll keep everyone informed. I don't think there is a Big Twin or Super Twelve in the states yet, so let's see how it goes! Barefaced Bass - Big Twin

As I dimly recall your "fEARful" was not built by an authorized builder, all of whom I require to back their builds with responsible support, and and that arrived with some things wrong with it? Just wanting to note that it was questionable whether it was properly up to spec, fully operational, and well-finished...
Anyway, I hope Alex's fine product does all that you expect. |

Good luck with the BF. Alex is a great guy. I'm a former Compact owner.

I LOVED the 12/6/1 except I needed more SPL from it. It would have been fine for about half of my shows but I'm goofy about using the same set-up all the time. The 15/6/1 did get louder, and for finger style and slap it KILLED. Problem for me is that I use a pick about 50% of the time and the attack and overall sound of the 15 just didn't work for me. The 12 was much more pleasing to my ear. Also, I had the Eminence mid with my 12/6/1 and 18 Sound with the 15/6/1.
Hope that helps. Cheers to greenboy for these terrific newer engineered designs!

Joe, we don't make a 'Dual Compact' - when we refer to dual Compacts on the site it's a stack of two Compacts. A Super Fifteen is essentially two Compacts in one box, so a Dual Compact would be the same cab - something for us to clarify on the site... |

A "flurry of orders" is a good thing. You are doing something well. I am looking forward to getting mine. Keep working hard.

If I needed the lows and spl it produces (and had an amp capable of really giving it a run) then I'd have one. As it is I have an awesome Super 12T instead, after recently swapping from a Vntage (precursor to the Super 15). I only swapped for convenience of size - the Vintage didn't fit in my car but the S12T does with loads of room to spare!

I got good mileage from two single 12" cabs stacked (GK Neo11 12" cabs), but of course they didn't have the frequency response of a 3 way cab. Two 12"s seems to hit a sweet spot for portability vs. spl capability, at least for me. So much so that I have a 1212/6/1 on order with one of the authorized fEarful builders.
Let us know how it works out!

As I said in my post, my two fearfuls had different mid drivers. I went through them completely and they were 100% to spec. |
