bass amp buzzing.

Just good a great deal on a epiphone thunderbird and trace elliot GP7SM250 combo for 170 euro.great sound off them but the amp seems to buzz loud even when both input and output volume is down and no lead in it.is this a big problem or can i fix it?also whats the difference between the epiphone and gibson thunderbird?sorry for my ignorence but i dont know.any help appricated.thanks.

Sounds like you need a tech to replace the power supply caps (all electrolytic caps actually).

Make sure your power cable has a ground pin that's properly connected. If you are too close to the amplifier all basses will give you hum to a greater or lesser amount. Failling all that follow Mr. B's advice.

Try a different outlet- the one you're using may have a problem. Is the instrument cable plugged in? Do your lights have dimmers instead of On/Off switches? If so, turn them off and see if the buzz goes away.

Also make sure there aren’t any tube lights, electrical motors (refrigerators, pumps, etc) on the same AC circuit as the bass amp and make sure the AC outlet is properly wired.

thanks guys i think the outlet in the house is the problem.it started clicking through mine and the guitarists amps.gonna jam somewhere else tomorrow and see.cheers again.
