Bass amp making weird noises.

Sign in to disble this ad
Good evening folks.

My sincerest apologies if this question is in the wrong part of the forum. However I have a question for you guys about my bass amp. It makes really weird noises like a new year rocket shooting up the sky then exploding. You know how it sounds, really high pitched and then pang! Schwooooooooooooo poff! That was an attempt to write down the sound. Could someone please tell me what could be wrong and no I'm not joking around it really sounds like new years fireworks.

The bass amp is Ibanez Sound Wave 65 I believe or 85 not quite sure.

It was obviously made in a Chinese fireworks factory. you need to take it to this man to have it diagnosed and repaired:

Solid state amp? Possbily an IC in the input stage got fried. I had a Marshall solid state guitar amp in the 80's that would blow an input IC every time I tried to put a distortion pedal through the input.

I have no idea what it is, sure is weird though. It's starts after 5 minutes playing not directly from the start

That guy in the picture is David Carradine. He played on a TV series called Kung Fu. Being that the sound starts after the amp warms up is indicative of a failing component. It gets hot and goes bad. Needs servicing.

Thanks for the help, I guess I'll just buy a new one a good one.
