Hi.

Welcome to TalkBass olko.

IME/IMHO, neither of those amps are suitable for metal, heavy or trash, if the drummer plays acoustic drums and/or the guitarist(s) have more than 20W amps. Regardless of where You're planning to use 'em.

Those amps are perfectly fine for a coffee-house bckground music type blues, jazz or rock, but when pushed, the chances of blowing something increases dramatically. Thomann has a 3 year warranty, but even they won't keep replacing blown (cheapo) gear.

What I would suggest, is to get a decent bass cab with that 150€, and use the Peavey to power it up until You are able buy a bass head to complete the rig.

Regards
Sam

Thank you for your answer

i would like to ask, if it is even possible to power that cab with my peavey vypyr, because it doesn't have 1/4" output, only headphone out

Maybe you could try to find a used Fender Rumble 100. That's the one I use and is just fine to small gigs, but if you need it has Line Out. The only down is that it doesn't comes with overdrive, but the new Rumble 150 do. Anyway I don't play metal, so I don't need that :P

Try used stuff and go for what your hears tell.

Since Your combo is an open back one, you can simply connect the speaker leads to a jack that you mount on a bracket somewhere.

Disconnect the combo speaker! Or remove the amp from the combo. If it's not supplied with an extension cab outlet the amplifier likely won't be happy driving one.

It does look like a very good plan though. If the basic bass tone you're after is in the vyper then putting it into a proper bass cab (with a horn) will make it a heap better. If you find it isn't there when you do that then your hand has been tipped to sell the vyper for a proper amp head.

I'd forget all about new budget combos for metal. Bang for buck is used. You need mondo bang.

i just looked for it, do you think that Rumble 100W 1*15" will be enough?

Well the 1X15 Rumble has good bass response, but Metal guitar players usually use way too much bass, so you have to try it. I play Rock, Soul, Jazz and Fusion with a drummer that has a huge vintage Premier and it works (at rehersals and small gigs). But never played metal.
Anyway if you need more volume, it has Line Out and you can use it as monitor.

Try it

Good choice, Olko but be careful you don't overdrive that 200W cab with a 300W head - it is easy to get carried away!
