Try em' all!
See if you like a sealed cab, or a ported cab, 10's, or 12's, or maybe 15's.
Let your ears decide...Not your eyes or the brand name. |

It's called personal preference. If you need loud, you want either one LARGE 4 ohm cab, (810, 215, 412) or a pair of decent sized 8 ohm cabs, (2x 212, 2x 410, 2x 115, etc) if you play in a quiet band, one medium sized 8 ohm cab will likely do, (ie: a 2x12). Go forth and play.

Good luck!!

I loved the head and I think it would sound great with many cabinets so it depends a lot on what you play and the sound you want. I don't like 15"'s so I always look for something punchier and 12"s seem to do that for me without sacrificing bottom.
That Hartke 4/10 cabinet was heavy and kind of awkward to transport. If I was using that same head now I'd marry it to a 2/12 cabinet. You're playing a great amp head so let your ears dictate what you want to play it through. |

The tone that I'm looking for has to have a growly, rumbling low end while providing me some really clear, clean, highs with much clarity, while mids being punchy enough to compliment the highs. I can't really pinpoint the exact type/style of music I will be playing (considering I play to what I feel like at the moment) It would be a lie to tell you all I want to play is Metallica, Sepultura, Slayer, Megadeth... I find myself playing tasty basslines from Interpol, Tool, Mudvayne, and much more! But anyways back to my journey on finding/creating my tone, is it even possible to create this ?!? |
