Bass Buddy Bummer

Won an ebay auction for a Phil Jones Bass Buddy. Yay me! But today the seller gets back with me saying he decided to try it one more time before shipping it out and its not working. Boo hoo! While I appreciate the seller's honesty and thoroughness, I'm still bummed.

For real, a DOA amp would result in a sink of the stomach. It sucks. Keep searching im sure you will find another one!

Or the seller didn't get as much as he wanted so fed you a line to get out of the sale.

Also a possibility. There isn't much to go wrong in a Bass Buddy. I really do wonder what could have happened.

That is the most likely scenario.

Since the close of an auction is theoretically a legally binding thing, you could pressure the seller to get a repair estimate, and have him send you a copy.

If he's lying to you (the most likely situation), the Bass Buddy will either magically start working again, or he'll come up with some sort of lame excuse for why he can't do that.

If he's being honest, he might see this as a way to sill get some money from a piece of equipment that needs repair.

Unless the guy has dropped this out of a 3rd story window, I'd be shocked if the thing needs anything beyond a very simple repair, assuming the thing is even broken in the first place.

You know, I'm kinda thinking that might be the case as well. I won it at $232 though so I didn't think that was a horribly bad price from either perspective.

Thanks folks! I think I've got an action plan!

since he stated in the listing that it was dropped and had a broken power switch, i think that he might be being honest about it not working now. $232 is a good price for one, but for one that's been dropped with an external power switch, i think that he'd have been happy to get that for it.

Well, I guess the things can break with something less than a three story drop, then.

I didn't realize that it listed as having existing damage.
