Bass Cabinet and Combo help

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey dudes. I'm looking at buying the Ashdown Mag 300 head and Ashdown 410T Cabinet soon. As the Cabinet is only 8 ohms, I assume the Head will only put out about 150 watts, yeah? I was wondering, is there some way to use a combo as a speaker so I can use both the combo and cabinet to put out sound? If so, would the cabinet become 4 ohms, allowing the head to put out 300watts?

Perhaps one speaker cable could go into the cabinet, while the second cable goes into the input of the combo? Correct me if I'm wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers!

Check out the Ashdown threads. You'll find a lot of valuable info there.

Good Luck.

sound not so well organized to me

if you want to enlarge the output to double you may start from opening the cab a check how they bridged the speakers. it is easy to re-wire the speakers to get the total 4 ohms, i guess you know how to.

most importanly, check the amp spec for minimum speakers impidance if they shall allow 4 ohms cab.

You can possibly take the Tuner output from the Mag 300 to the input of your combo and use the combo as a second amp.

Or maybe the combo has an 8ohm speaker you can run to the output of the Mag 300.

You CANNOT plug the speaker out put of the Mag 300 into the combo amp input.
