Bass preamp

Im currently looking for a tube preamp to go along with my dull sounding ampeg b2r. Im looking for a nice warm tube sound. The eden navigator looks interesting and is not too expensive. Has anyone had any experience with this? I would appreciate some other recommendations as well...

There are tons of stomp boxes that can warm up a solid state head. Go to the fx forum and ask.

Also, the Art tubepak is a good unit for this application. You can also use any dedicated bass preamp into the effects return of the Ampeg. Most of the on-line dealers have good return policies, all you risk is return shipping.

hmm how would a pedal or the tube pac compare to a designated tube bass preamp, such as the ampeg svp-cl?? My brother has a svp-cl that i've played through a million times and it sounds superb.

You could just get a Vt bass pedal and use it as a preamp.
