Bass Rig Wattage Matching

I have a Behringer Ultrabass BA115 Cabinet, It is rated at 600 watts at 8 Ohm. What Head should I use?

Currently I'm using a Hartke 3500c but It's only rated at 350 watts. I have recently found out that the amp should have more wattage than the head (is this true) But even the most powerful Behringer Bass amp is 450 watts. How can Behringer not sell a head suitable for it's cab. What am I not understanding and what should I do to keep from ruining my cabinet?

you're fine as is. there is no way in hell that behringer cab can take anywhere near 600w. and all that more wattage than the cab stuff is poppycock. that's for pro soundmen who know how to operate their gear safely, not for bass players who don't.

I do play an extensive amount of live shows though so I would like to operate as safely as possible because it gets damn loud

you're good. go have fun. maybe consider getting a bigger cab rig in the near future, but you should be good to go for now.
