Heh, heh, yep. Had a blues gig at a very small venue with a trio and one singer. Just guitar, bass and drums for the band. It's one of the smallest places I've ever played in, and was told we'd being doing some jazz and a few beach tunes as well---and that they REALLY didn't like it loud. So, I opted to take my 2007 Fender Bassman 150 (150w/112), figuring it would do the job ok. I never use it anymore, so it was nice for a change from my Markbass rig. I had a good time eq'ing it and playing with it. I must say it was almost like a new toy. The last time I played out with it was about four years ago just after I bouthgt it. It has a good sound, I think, especially when using the semi-parametric mids. I was able to dial in a good room sound. And, I got to tilt it back, too. It felt good to play quietly for a change, although, as we all know, it's harder to get into what you'r playing like that. But still, it was good.
Well, just last night I took the Bassman to the local blues jam. It's a smallish room, too. Previously, I had played another guy's Hartke Kickback with a 12" in there. It did ok, so again, my Bassman did a fine job. I got some good compliments on my sound from some in-the-know pals there, so I know it did a good job.
Fun to use the ole amp for a change.
