Bassman 300 Pro + 2x12 + ?

Sign in to disble this ad
Looking for an extension cab for the Bassman 300pro and the Avatar b212 combo. I was kinda set on another b212 but I'm curious to see what you guys think because TB is always right!

Looking for something deep and versitile enough for different musical situations, not just rock.

I definitely want to keep my 212 in the config so its just a matter of adding a second 4 ohm cab.

Leaning towards the 2x10 or 1x15 for portability reasons, but not sure about the tone. Thoughts?

Thanks for the help-Cheers!
Brandon

In my opinion, the 115 would be great if you had a 410. With the 212, I don't know, I've never played a 212, but I think it's similiar to a 410. If it is, it'll be perfect; if it isn't, it will probably be good enough. Also, may I ask you a question: how much did the Bassman 300 cost you?

The Avatar B212 is great because not only does it have the warmer, deeper tone of a 12 inch speaker, but there is an adjustable tweeter to compensate for the lack of punch and clarity you tend to find in larger speakers.

I purchased a new 300 and paid $1629.99 USD w/ 2 year warranty and a money back guarantee. I was actually in talks with a fellow TBer who offered me his used 300 for an amazing price, but before I wasted his time I wanted to buy a new one and give it a trial run knowing I could return it if it wasn't my cup o tea. If I fall deeply in love with it, I may just keep it brand new, otherwise he will hear from me on Monday

I run my Sunn 300T with a 215 or 115. You are probably best off getting another 212 so you don't have any impedance issues. if the cabs don't match then they won't balance. 4 12's would kicka$$ probably tighter than my 15's and you can go smaller if you want to.
Peace

I think eventually I will run the 215 config because that seems to be the thing to do with the 300pro/300t. As I mentioned earlier, I like the 212 because its kind of right in between 10's and 15's. You guys seem to have the same reasoning as I do...WATCH OUT!

When I went from a 115 to tha 215 it was like driving a V8 instead of a 6 cylinder. The 115 was plenty loud it just had to work hard to get it. The 215 just seems to fill the room comfortably with little effort. I have EV 115 and SWR Big Bertha 215.

I like 2x15s, but I voted for another 2x12 in your poll.

Personally, I'd like to try a 2x12 on top of my 2x15
